It all began on a typical evening for me as a young adult at the age of seventeen. I went shopping with one of my best friends in the center of Amsterdam. I was on my way home by metro. I was moved by the word of God that was preached in the metro on my way home. Someone stood up in the crowd and started talking about the emptiness deep inside of you. He said: ‘There is nothing in this world that can fill that void inside of you. You have tried many things to make that emptiness go away, but nothing seems to work.’
Don’t get me wrong. I was living a good life. My parents took very good care of me. Big up to my awesome parents! I will forever honour the great parents God has blessed me with. However, at that time I was not a born again Christian yet. I did not knew that I was chained by bad spirits such as loneliness, negativity and bad relationships. I thought that I was doing good. I did no harm to anyone. Instead, I tried to help people. I did my best at school and I always had a student job from the age of thirteen. I cleaned my room regularly and I participated in different sports. I loved dancing, from street dance to salsa. I was not very interested in religion. As a family we did attend church on special occasions and we prayed during New Year’s Eve.
I myself was wondering at that time: ‘Why did someone like me needed to repent and ask for forgiveness of sins?’ Well, let me tell you why. I now know better and I understand the reasons why I needed to repent and ask God for forgiveness. If we as humans do not submit to the will of God we are submitting to our own will. Our own will differs from the will of God. By choosing your own will you willingly choose to sin against the will of God, even though you might not be aware of your sin. Don’t think because you ‘do good’ and you ‘have good intentions’ you don’t need Jesus Christ as your lord and savior (like I thought at the age of seventeen). We are all in the need of the love of Jesus Christ. Give Him all you have.
God completely changed my life and I am no longer chained by bad spirits (such as loneliness, negativity and bad relationships). He took away the emptiness that was in my heart and turned it into joy and thankfulness. My cup now runs over with positivity.
If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. I dare you to give Him your heart. Give Him all you have. I wish for everyone to know Jesus Christ personally. It was the best choice I made, to choose the will of God. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my testimony.
